The children’s and youth advisory board (Kinder- und Jugendbeirat – KJB) of the city of Norderstedt

What is the children’s and youth advisory board?

The city council has given the children’s and youth advisory board the right to be informed about all relevant matters the administration and politics are planning.

Relevant matters:

  • Everything that concerns children and youths, e.g. plans for new playgrounds, skate parks and football and sports grounds.
  • Alternative cultural programmes, such as the Nordersound Bandcontest for all bands with members from the age of 14.
  • Co-determination in school and youth policies. Currently: what form should school-related social work take for pupils who have difficulties with their parents, teachers and classmates?
  • Fundraiser for “little Mathies!” – the KJB raised 202.00 EUR at an event at JIM’s Bar and donated them towards Mathies’ bone marrow examination.

The children’s and youth advisory board has the capability to change things!

The children’s and youth advisory board has the right of petition and the right to speak in front of the city council and in all committees.

This is the current children’s and youth advisory board in Norderstedt!

Take part and have fun...!

The KJB has the following work groups (AKs):
Mondays:        Politics work group
Tuesdays:       Building and school work group
Thursdays:      Youth work/leisure activities work group

The members take part in the work groups that they are most interested in.
All AKs take place in the KJB office from 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm. The KJB office is located in Rathausallee 33a at the Jugendhaus Bunker in Norderstedt-Mitte.
The actual advisory board meetings, in which the results of the AKs are being discussed and finalised, take place on Fridays from 4.30 pm to 6.00 pm in meeting room III of the Norderstedt town hall, Rathhausallee 50. Taking part in your preferred work group and in the KJB meeting on Fridays takes roughly 2.5 hours per week.

The children’s and youth advisory board is looking forward to working with you!
