Public transport in Norderstedt

u bahn von oben

Norderstedt is part of the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund [Hamburg transport association] – generally referred to as the HVV – and is connected to two municipal railway lines: U1 and A2. A number of HVV bus routes complete the public transport network, making every destination within the municipal area easy to reach by public transport.

Norderstedt does not have a main-line station, but travellers can take the U1 from Norderstedt-Mitte directly to Hamburg central station. In the daytime, the U1 leaves every 5-10 minutes. And for those who enjoy revelling in Hamburg’s nightlife at the weekends or before bank holidays: the U1 goes to Norderstedt-Mitte every 20 minutes all through the night, and from there you can catch the night bus services 616 and 626.
